Common ninebark
Dense, fast-growing deciduous shrub. Striking white to pink spiraea-like blooms in May–June. Exfoliating bark adds winter interest. Use as hedge for screening. Many cultivars available, but straight species rarely sold. Of special value to native bees.
Moist to dry soil, sun to part shade, 4–8’ tall.
